BASI Train & Work in the Swiss Alps (BTWSA) - SNOWBOARD


OnTheMountain Pro’s BTWSA course offers high quality BASI training with a BASI instructor coupled with the opportunity for trainees to get work/work shadow with Neige Aventure after the training (subject to eligibility) with FREE accommodation until the end of the season (subject to conditions).

BTWSA Course Content - SNOWBOARD :

The course has been carefully designed and tailored to meet your needs...


Week 1 - Training for BASI Level 1 EXAM

Personal performance training on different types of terrain, understanding of core BASI concepts, including technical ability, demonstrations and teaching skills as well as on piste and classroom analysis of the BASI Central Theme progression.


Week 2 - BASI Level 1 EXAM

You will be trained and assessed on core concepts within snowboard teaching specifically for beginner and early intermediate snowboarders, personal technical performance as well as accident & emergency procedures.


Week 3 - Avalanche and Mountain Safety Training

Ride with a mountain guide, finding secret powder stashes! It includes avalanche awareness, transceiver training, snowpack analysis and general mountain safety. This week will also include some freeriding (subject to conditions) and avalanche theory seminars.


Week 4 - Training for BASI Level 2 exam 

Personal performance training for short and long turns, steeper slopes, bumps and variable terrain as well as on piste and classroom analysis of BASI Central Theme progression. Includes Ski Resort Business Seminars and ‘by instructors for instructors’ French Tuition.


Weeks 5 to 8 - Work/Work Shadowing + Training

Shadow well experienced instructors in the mornings and then have personal performance clinics in the afternoons with on piste and classroom video technical analysis plus french tuition by instructors for instructors.


Weeks 9 & 10 - BASI Level 2 EXAM

10 days of continuous assessment demonstrating knowledge, ability and understanding to safely teach alpine skiing on a marked, ski-patrolled area to the required level.


Weeks 11 to 14 - Work/work shadowing

Work/work shadow at Neige Aventure Snowboard school during Spring/Easter periods and enjoy an end of season chill out with friends and colleagues!
